Java and Ken are the owners of Ceramique Ceramic Studios, a mobile paint-your-own pottery and art party business. We bring creative experiences directly to your location.
Java is a retired child protective service worker with 39 years of experience supporting children and families. Ken is a carpenter with more than 43 years in the trade, bringing craftsmanship, problem-solving, and attention to detail into everything we do.
Our journey into pottery began several years ago when Ken discovered thousands of vintage molds during a cleanout. What started as curiosity quickly became a shared passion. We began learning the craft as a hobby—pouring slip, experimenting with techniques, and enjoying the calming, therapeutic nature of working with clay.
Today, that passion shapes everything we offer at Ceramique Ceramic Studios. Java’s background in working with families informs the thoughtful, welcoming way our events are guided, while Ken’s hands-on skills ensure quality pottery pieces and a smooth setup every time.
