Create Two Pumpkin Luminaries
Discover the creative experience of handbuilding with clay at Ceramique Ceramic Studios using the Pinch Technique.
During this beginner-friendly class, instructor Arkady Thompson will guide you step by step as you transform clay into two one-of-a-kind pumpkin luminaries. You’ll learn basic handbuilding techniques while shaping your pumpkins and adding your own cutout faces, expressions and creative details.
No previous clay experience is needed. This small-group class is designed to provide plenty of personal instruction and time to create.
Your $65 registration includes:
• Guided 2½-hour handbuilding class
• Clay to create two pumpkin luminaries
• All tools and supplies
• Drying and 2- kiln firing of your completed pieces
Your choice to return to paint and decorate, or clear-glazed natural finish by staff.
• Support from an experienced clay instructor

$65 per person
After the class, your pumpkin luminaries will remain at Ceramique to dry for approximately one week before their first kiln firing. Drying time may vary because each piece is handmade.
After the first firing, you may choose one of the following finishing options:
• Return to Ceramique to paint your pumpkin luminaries in your choice of colors. ($10.00 additional cost to paint)
• Have Ceramique apply a clear glaze to preserve the natural clay appearance. no additional cost.
After decorating or clear glazing, the pieces will receive their final kiln firing. We will contact you when they are ready for pickup.
Please note: Handmade clay pieces can occasionally crack, warp or develop other variations during drying and firing. These natural variations are part of the handbuilding process.
Please note: This is a handbuilding class using wet clay. Completed pieces must remain at Ceramique to dry thoroughly and be kiln-fired. Clay pieces are not available to take home on the day of class. Because handmade clay pieces can occasionally crack or change during drying and firing, slight variations and imperfections are a natural part of the pottery process.
Advance registration is required. Class registration is non-refundable. With at least 72 hours’ notice, your registration may be transferred to another participant or moved according to Ceramique’s event policy.
