 Pottery Wheel Need To Know

This is a Try It Pottery Wheel Experience. This class is designed as a hands on introduction to the art of throwing clay. While most participants create 1–2 pieces, the primary goal of the class is to learn, experiment, and enjoy the process of developing a new skill.

As with all ceramic work, there is a small risk that pieces may crack, warp, or not survive the drying, glazing, or kiln-firing process. Clay can be unpredictable, and factors such as moisture levels, compression, wall thickness, and trapped air can occasionally lead to kiln casualties, even for experienced potters. Finished pieces cannot be guaranteed. In the rare event that all of your pottery is lost during the process, we will provide a partial studio credit that can be used toward a pottery painting project from our shelves or applied to a future clay class so you can continue practicing your new skills.
